The story behind the secret of Camelot

Kingdom of Logres, early 6th century. The aging King Arthur asks his mentor, the magician Merlin, to help him find a knight worthy of participating in the quest for the Holy Grail. Merlin has found a way to recognize him: the one who succeeds in his trial and "pulls the king's sword from the stone" will be deemed worthy.

Many knights, endowed with exceptional strength and bravery, presented themselves to Merlin, but none could succeed in his test. Until the arrival of Galahad, son of Lancelot, who accomplished the impossible. Immediately, King Arthur proclaimed him the greatest knight of all time.

Many of Galahad's exploits are recounted in detail in medieval literature, with one exception: Merlin's Trial, which remained his secret until his death. Or so it seemed… Recently, a burial mound containing the grave of an unknown knight was discovered in West Yorkshire. All indications suggest it is Galahad's burial place. In his hands, the deceased held what is believed to be Merlin's Trial, which is said to have haunted Galahad until the end of his days.
