The Story of Schrödinger's Cat
This is a thought experiment by the Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger, illustrating the problems of quantum mechanics using everyday objects. In this experiment, a cat and poison are enclosed in a box.
Quantum mechanics dictates that after a certain time, the cat is both dead and alive. Unfortunately, Schrödinger, absorbed in his own activities, completely forgot about the cat.
